Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost its base stats or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with strong bases, like Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be slotted into trinkets, weapons, armor and tools for gathering, offering an attribute bonus or extra impact when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies or as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.

There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be used on any kind of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a type restriction. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of item names. For example, adding the suffix Glyph would make the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a set number of times before being "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials required do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few key items and maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple items.

Once an item has been leveled out, it will be eligible for an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to gain affixes which will enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes available is contingent on the item's base type. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step will require a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option of transfer it to another person and then re-infuse the item with another set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However it has a lower rate of success.

Engineers will employ a level to measure the height of the building with a known point, like the benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering an item level upgrade's upgrade components. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can dramatically increase the strength of an item or damage, as well as other characteristics. It is possible to do this through the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be done in rare cases.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a similar item upgrader kit. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the amount of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you would receive the stats that mattered most to your build often than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each stat. This could be good or bad, depending on what you're looking to get from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also have a unique bonus that increases the power of the item by a set percentage or flat value. These bonuses are offered over the standard affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the greater your chances of receiving the bonus of a different kind.

The game also includes several sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is a good way to give an individual character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the initial stages. This is because rerolling can give players a faster path to a powerful character which allows them to achieve high tiers and progress the game more quickly.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be arranged in a variety of ways. They can be of various sizes, contain none at all, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an extensive selection of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Sets of armor that offer the highest defense value or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically do not improve the stats of the item when compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade when your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.

Some set items are upgraded for their own unique functions which can be beneficial in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into the same level with their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower level items can increase their defense and improve their performance when it comes to damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item as well as the required items to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will bring about a significant improvement in their stats. This will also increase the defense of armor with a newer appearance.
