Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components

A special item can be used to evolve certain Pokemon. The Upgrade can be obtained by spinning a PokeStop's picture disc and is sometimes offered as a reward in Pokemon GO events.

The Upgrade can also be found in armor, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools to increase the level of their item. The upgrade cost Flightstones and crests, depending on the type of Best item upgrade.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be inserted into weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools in order to add attributes or other bonuses while the equipment being used. The equipment being upgraded must have an available upgrade slot to accommodate the component, and most upgrade components require the item being upgraded to be at a certain level. Certain upgrade items also come with special visual effects when they are applied to an equipment piece. Upgrade components can be obtained by crafting, purchased from karma traders or exchanged with other players on the Trading Post, salvaged from equipment, or acquired as rewards in game.

A variety of upgrade components are available, each offering various bonuses. Universal upgrades, such as gems and inscriptions can be used on any type of equipment. They provide smaller bonuses than other types of upgrade components. Infusions are used in non-amulet equipment that is ascended and legendary equipment, while enrichments are used to upgrade certain items that have been ascended. Slotting in an upgrade component can destroy the previous upgrade. The only exceptions are glyphs, that can only be placed in gathering tools, as well as enchantments. Both are able to be removed and reinserted.

Insignias and enchantments will be displayed their names in the hover display of the Best item upgrade while upgrades with suffix and prefix will add their names to the end of the equipment name (e.g., a Radiant Insignia on Tyrian Armor would change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). Glyphs

Glyphs are special characters that can be inserted into an OpenType font to add functional or decorative elements like ligatures and ornaments, fractions and swashes registered trademark symbols, and ellipses. When a Glyph is at the desired level you can activate it. Select it and then click the "enchant button". The Glyph you create will provide its stated benefit, and boost other nodes within its range on the Paragon Board. Glyphs should be put in areas that will benefit your building the most. This is why you should consider Magic Glyphs as soon as possible. Rare glyphs, however, could offer double bonuses in the event that certain conditions are fulfilled, so they're worth looking out for.

If you're having trouble finding a particular glyph click the cycle widget on the Glyphs panel to show the panel in a number of different views. Each of these views displays the Glyphs using a different font.
