UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors are worn out over time and need to be replaced. When replacing them, it is essential that the new handles match the dimensions of the previous handle.

The door handles of uPVC/Composite are constructed of durable materials and are perfect for doors with multi-point locks which require a robust design. The handles are inline, and they utilize the same spindle and screws to secure them. They can be easily installed on new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.

The handle can be placed and angled to suit the needs of all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles, which will ensure the quality of the finish and the performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever is adjustable to fit a wide range of locks. This is especially useful for narrower door frames where the cylinder is located further back. A shortened lever can also be used on doors with a latch which can be operated with the thumb inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently to the lever type handles found on most doors. These handles are operated by one spindle or two spindles inline or offset. They are generally employed on UPVC double-glazed doors and are available in a variety of variations and styles.

The handles have been tested to the minimum of 200k cycles and are available in several finishes including White Silver, Chrome, & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to corrosion. This provides the handle with an outstanding performance and durability to serve its intended use.

All UPVC levers for handles come with a spindle, screws, and can be fitted on the uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixation centres allow for a bigger handle, which is often a benefit when replacing an old or damaged multi-point door lock mechanism. The levers for these handles have springs, which eliminate the issue of door handles that sag out of their horizontal position when they are not being used.

It is crucial to ensure that the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC doors when selecting the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement may also be called 'handle centre' or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the right handles.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. They work with a key to unlock a cylinder case that is then revealed with pins that can be aligned to those in the lock body, permitting them to turn the cam, thereby opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. Internal and external doors require different levels of security.

The choice of cylinder you choose is essential. It's dependent on the amount of use your doors and handles will receive. External doors, for example are required to be fitted with cylinders that are more secure, whereas internal doors can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders come with additional features that increase security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump features.

A euro cylinder must be measured accurately to ensure that it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to the end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this with the lock in place however if this is not feasible, you can take it off and remove it to measure. It is crucial to avoid having a cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.

Most modern cylinders are made with anti-drill and bump resistance features included in their design. These are designed to reduce the chance of a attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in a different direction. This will help to stop the attack and protect your doors.

Certain cylinders are constructed to resist snapping. This is a more frequent kind of attack on cylinders, where the break line in the lock is attacked using a special tool to snap off the front of the cylinder and allow the door to open. This is a much faster and more convenient method of gaining access than the use of a multipoint locking window handle system. It also leaves less evidence of the break-in which can make it difficult to prove insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette sits within the base of your door handle backplate, providing a spring solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their original position after usage. In the past, a lot of handles of this kind did not have a spring built into them, and as a result, they can droop or drop when the locking mechanism is removed. Adding this simple component is one of the best methods to correct this and it is also an excellent way to stop your doors made of upvc from getting stuck in the open or closed position, as they aren't always easy to manually close by hand.

These spring cassettes were designed to be used with a sprung multipoint locks. They are not compatible with unsprung handles and you'll have to cut a hole into your backplate for them to fit. They are sold as a single unit. They feature a square cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
