1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s smartest robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its biggest innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often go through). It's the first robot to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, meaning you can tell the robot to stay clear of it.

The Q5+ is noticeable soft around obstacles like wall legs and table legs and walls, which makes it an excellent option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is an area that most robot vacuums of lower quality fall short. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is excellent as well, with only a few missed corners and along walls.

The Q5+, like other Roborock products can be controlled with a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones or adjust your home map, or change the room's label.

If you choose to purchase the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-empty dock that's designed specifically to make this machine easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively simple. It comes with a huge LCD screen that is very useful when setting up schedules and altering settings. This feature isn't essential for everyone, but it can help effectively keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively smart in both its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and functionality are among the most advanced available however it's expensive.

It is a relatively small base station that looks great and can be hidden when not in use. The primary selling point of the station is that it automates many tasks, functions, and chores that other robots leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. Many other robots require you to do this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive as well. It's the few robot vacuums I've tested that does a really good job of cleaning up debris from unfinished floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

But the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robot vacuums. This means that it could get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's not able navigate stairs as well as competitors, either and it doesn't have a dock that allows you to create an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.
