WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item upgrade level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrade used to upgrade items will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will display an item's preview at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available after certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

Players have a number of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated may require as many as 20 crests, based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader kit upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the Item Level Upgrade in the proper steps and pathways.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment you have and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
