Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills or staining) in one go without the need to change devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good robot vacuum combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank, and wash their mopping pads using an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.

You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed. However, a quick glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs must be completed like emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner by using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and easy to understand although we would like to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop, is the most up-to-date version. Unlike last year's model this one has two agitators in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to remove finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It is able to change its course automatically and clean around them without stumbling.

It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto vacuum and mop-filling.

The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself to wash manually. I've observed that any soft carpet the best robot cleaner crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and crumbs. It comes with a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the need for a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 also has a side brush that is able to be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like chairs and table legs. It also allows the robot to access furniture with a low profile making it an ideal option for smaller apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to avoid damaging floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.

In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can do both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or in a series. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, change modes, look at maps and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you when it overflows, thus reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot vacuum with mop is one of the most expensive models available. However, it has many characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature of its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is beneficial as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's a wealth of settings available which include the ability to schedule cleaning times and alter a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or direct buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers a variety of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also has a number of features that aren't available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white design that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list, but it's still not too heavy. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping system is well designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
