The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top rated robot vacuum-rated robots that we test. It could be stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between surfaces, such as carpet and hardwood.

iRobot recommends clearing areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include putting away any toys or clutter it might encounter. You should also keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes about three hours to recharge.

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot, and it comes with all the latest features. It is self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that allows it to create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot using voice or via the app.

The i7+ is quicker and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to begin or stop cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. When connected to these services, we were able use the i7+'s voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.
