The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. It then continues cleaning from where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half continuous use, and takes about three hours to fully recharge.

2. IRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with the most recent features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most crucial feature of all -- it has self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot through the app or by voice.

In our tests, the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin, which removes major maintenance sources and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions, move itself around the room and sweep a specific space. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world full of cordless vacs that are like minivans and buses, this tiny Dyson model is a sports car. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery, which produces power without fading for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to collect large crumbs and fine dust. It has three suction modes that can be adjusted to the specific task. It quickly switches from floor vac to handheld vacuum, and then back to floor.

The model also comes with a dock that charges to 100% in 3.5 hours and provides an easy access to two attachments as well as the Wand clip. This is a huge improvement over older Dysons that require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The main drawback of the V10 is its limited running time. The tests conducted by CR show that its claims to run up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a typical, not an exceptional, time to run a battery-powered cordless vac. This is enough time to vacuum the average-sized home but not enough to reach every area. (A second pass is usually sufficient). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have lots of money to invest in the latest model of robot. It could pick up the majority of types of debris in our testing and often went over the same area multiple times for an extensive clean. Its flat front end helps it reach into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice feature.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and help you navigate your home. However, it isn't equipped with the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, like our top picks, i3+EVO and j7+ Series. This means that it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it often will run out of battery before returning to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways, as it has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.

The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of purposes, because it has a better battery life, the ability to change its suction power mode manually and has physical boundary strips, and is operated by your phone's voice assistant. It's also more durable, has a stronger motor, and is more effective on floors with bare or low-pile.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's not surprising, then, that they are also among the top rated robot vacuum manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is loaded with cutting-edge onboard intelligence technology to aid in navigation and obstacles avoidance.
