Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our tests on floors that are bare They're also particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which hinder them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a good value for those whose office or home has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it while you're at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying dock, though. If you're required to clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for one that is wet in just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its smart cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles like pet hair. It also has a self-emptying bin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot Hoover [king-wifi.win] for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensor technology that can stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can change its cleaning schedule and set up zones through the well-designed app. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to take off and extend its mops. This will help prevent cross contamination. It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically fills up its base, and it supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competitors' compact models This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most appealing looking in our reviews. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robot vacuums that mop vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station, and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with a simple mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's a noisy unit that could be a problem if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable, but it will cost you more and produce more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its top rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time but this was not foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the home based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

For bigger homes it's recommended to choose models with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a particular area of your home via the app or via voice commands. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have number of furniture. Also the recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto vacuum and mop-emptying washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot cleaning that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is a bit more noisy than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
