World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd to increase their stats (like an ideally broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while others like weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats like damage to attack, crit chance as well as PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally there are many weapons with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon is present on a unit. This bonus can sometimes be greater than the damage that an upgrade can do on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it is required to use an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. While this is generally an excellent thing however, it could have negative consequences too. Upgrades can render items unusable, unless you are extremely lucky.

The ability to upgrade items armor items to increase their stats. For instance, if you have chests or helms, it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it could roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain when upgrading, as well as the relative values of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will strike 3 times less often as it is an absolute statistic.

A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button with circular arrows within the item menu. This will reroll the item and change its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor can make huge differences in your ability to endure. Certain sets can offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poisons and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to navigate difficult terrains. In general, the more defense you have for your character, the greater health you'll get from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.

To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees needed for each level will differ. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For example, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a good-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to withstand a full on raid with a few of your friends.

You can't upgrade your armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical power or spell power. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also get some perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally speaking, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is beneficial to have a few upgrades to your chest armor Item Upgrading and helmets to let you stealthy battle certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, give an immediate effect. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to enhance their level of effectiveness. Additionally, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to the potions.

Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion and the item's rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade item a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI which allows you to select the potions that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.

Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade unless you make use of it again or break the bottle within the container it is kept. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the mechanics of potions. For example the splash potions now have a duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item). The table of potion can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be mixed in cauldrons. Also, putting a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the potion and replenishes the bottle.

Finally, there are lingering potions, which are made using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can be added to lingering potions to extend their effect. The table of potions is arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece of jewelry. It could also be an object or ornament that serves a function but isn't essential, like a trinket. In certain cultures, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing stats.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

The upgrade of a trinket can be a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new one. One can upgrade a trinket with as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base level as the old trinket, but it also comes with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded once the old ones are no longer needed which allows a player to boost their power and value over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.

In general, players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the Best item upgrader-in slot items for each class are first upgraded then their secondary gear and finally other equipment that they won't be replacing in the near future (such as rings or cloaks). When choosing which items to upgrade, players should be aware of the preferred statistics of their class. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player then they should consider upgrading their helm, chest and shoulders.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher level once they are no longer useful, and the new trinket will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. However, a re-upgrade is likely to cause the trinket to be destroyed until it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
